In my writing planning video, I explain how to make an outline for writing. This outline includes the answer for the introduction, two body paragraph topics, and conclusion. All together, this outline should take about three minutes during the test.
Here I’ll give an example of an outline for the foreign languages topic from last week.
Essay Outline
Introduction: paraphrase + my opinion (travel and work in a foreign country are not the only good reasons)
Body Paragraph 1 Topic: Travel and work in foreign countries are two of the main reasons to learn another language
Body Paragraph 2 Topic: There are other worthwhile reasons for learning a foreign language.
Conclusion: re-paraphrase the introduction
Comments:
Did you notice that there isn’t too much detail here?
If you have watched the planning video, you’ll remember that the next step is to brainstorm details for each of the body paragraphs (in 6 minutes).
Finally, the reason that I haven’t written the introduction and conclusion in sentences is to save time during the planning phase.
